L.A. Art: Dirt Cobain

“U get me so high.” That’s a catchphrase of street artist Dirt Cobain, whose vibrant work pops up all over Los Angeles. Stylistically, it’s the perfect complement to the California weed culture: colorful and easygoing, cool but not hipster. His hard-to-miss pieces—like a wall covered in cartoonish giant pills, or a full 40 oz. bottle labeled with “Lost in the Sauce”—celebrate mind-altering effects, but with a playful vibe.

Cobain’s work puts us in a chill state of mind and often gives us the feeling that someone out there shares our sense of humor.

Where to see it:

On Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood, Venice, and Downtown L.A.
